The Sr Cloud Infrastructure Analyst is responsible for overall support and maintenance of Azure, VMWare on Azure, Azure Hyperconverged, and enterprise backup technology. The Sr Cloud Infrastructure Analyst provides technical expertise to the team to help solve the most complex challenges faced in keeping the enterprise systems operating reliably and efficiently. This is a senior-level individual contributor job and is expected to operate independently while executing complex Cloud Infrastructure assignments, such as analyzing system performance, researching, and recommending systems design alternatives. Incumbents at this level are fully functional in all aspects of Cloud Infrastructure across all enterprise platforms. Major Responsibilities:
- Acts as technical expert with the enterprise’s overall Cloud Infrastructure architecture.
- Assumes a leadership role with the implementation and support of all Cloud Infrastructure functions including servers, and applications (Azure, VMWare on Azure, Windows server, Active Directory, M365, Exchange, DNS, GPO & Azure policy).
- Helps to define and promote standards and guidelines that guide the design of technology solutions across enterprise-wide Cloud Infrastructure.
- Researches and evaluates new products, maintains knowledge of emerging technologies for application to the enterprise. Provides technical consulting to management that may result in the selection, installation, and support of enterprise-wide Cloud Infrastructure.
- Actively leads large IT projects to provide a Cloud Infrastructure perspective and ensure standards are followed.
- Accountable for completing systems planning, design, and optimization.
- Participate in planning and recommending Cloud Infrastructure technology and standards.
- Assists in strategies for Cloud Infrastructure solutions using current and emerging technologies. Translates business requirements into Cloud Infrastructure or process designs.
- Performs deployment and maintenance procedures as well as troubleshooting Cloud Infrastructure.
- Monitors performance of Cloud Infrastructure: backups, replication, and server performance. Provide and implement recommendations for improvement.
- Monitors system logs and monitoring systems to ensure proper functioning of Cloud Infrastructure and security functions.
- Provides technical guidance and training to less experienced team members.
- Participates in On-Call rotation for after-hours support.
Supervisory Relationships:
- Position Reports To: Manager, Enterprise Cloud Infrastructure
Incumbent Attributes:
- BS/BA in a related field or equivalent experience typically required to complete all essential job functions.
- 7 or more years of related professional work experience is required to complete all essential job functions.
- Microsoft Azure certifications, associate level or higher are required.
- Candidate should have experience with Microsoft, Azure, PowerShell, IaaS, and PaaS.
- Experience of and participation in the change process, attending change board as a service desk or service management representative.
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and to collaborate with site leads to deliver against the organizations service goals in a deadline-oriented environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with organization and time management skills.
