Reports to the Manager, Procurement & Materials Control.CF Industries is currently seeking a Materials Control Supervisor to join our Procurement Department, located at our Medicine Hat Complex.
The Supervisor plays an essential role in leading the management of the warehouse; managing MRO inventory operations including stocking levels, providing security controls of materials held in inventory, overseeing shipping and receiving functions.
You will lead the Material Control staff supporting the Company’s strategic direction and assists to execute procurement and material control processes integrating with other relevant business functions while providing leadership in identifying and implementing best practices in all material control processes.

What you’ll do:
Manages the warehouse operation in accordance with CF Policies and Procedures; includes daily supervision of warehouse staff, establishing and adjusting work schedules, training staff, conduct monthly safety meetings, and establish work priorities
Assist with leading the material control function within Medicine Hat in pursuit of projects that improve productivity or reduce costs directly or through process improvements
Assist in the development of long-term and short-term plans that incorporates current and future technology, and future updates and enhancements.
Understand and leverage knowledge of the company’s and competitor’s products, industry trends, and superior business practices, and integrate same into material control operations in ways that achieve competitive advantage.
Responsible for warehouse housekeeping including the interior and exterior of the building(s) and outside yard area(s)
Ability to safely operate a forklift in and around warehouse including loading and unloading of vehicles, storage and picking of material from shelving and other warehouse areas
Assist with the creation of a highly collaborative material control culture by providing the appropriate level of support within the organization.
Support the annual and long-term goals; outlined in the company strategic and detail plans.
Support the “One Company” philosophy in all procurement and material control initiatives.
Required Skills
High School Diploma: Preference will be given to those who hold a college diploma or certification in Warehouse Materials Handling or Inventory Management.
Experience within the material control field in an industrial environment.
Knowledge of computer systems: Windows environment; fundamental working knowledge of Microsoft applications such as Word and Excel are required
Leadership: Demonstrated knowledge, skills, abilities, and attributes to perform successfully in the key areas of People Leadership, Results Leadership, Thought Leadership & Self Leadership.
Coaching and training: Ability to empower others through active listening, collaboration, training, education and technical advice.
Judgment and decision-making: An understanding of your own personal knowledge and limitations when considering long and short-term decisions and recommendations.
